Omega 3 Side Effects
Omega-3 fatty acids is one of the main components of fish oil that we are looking for when we decide to take this supplement. In my earlier articles I have described the benefits of adding fish oil into your daily diet and positive effects it might have on your overall well-being. Today I will talk about the side effects that come along with it and raise concerns of everyone who decide to use Omega-3 rich supplements.
Interestingly enough, side effects of Omega-3 found in fish oil are the very benefits we consume it for. Typically, when it comes to drugs the term “side effects” means something that we should avoid as with any medication there is a risk of damaging one body part while curing the other. To give you an example, medications for high blood pressure can cause erectile dysfunction, allergy drugs can cause fatigue and some drugs can cause damage to your nervous system or even the body.
However, there is a small observation to be made because Omega-3 is not actually a drug - it is naturally obtained set of acids that human body needs in order to function properly but can not produce by itself. Therefore, it is safe to consume them in recommended proportions (3 capsules a day after the meal) without fear of damaging your health.
In fact, the only noticeable side effect of taking Omega-3 supplement you could experience will be occasional belch of fish taste reported by some people. This might last just for the first few days until your fish-digesting enzymes kicks in. The rest of the side effects will be the positive ones which will better your health. And the number of these is overwhelming and worth another article or even a few to just mention most of the obvious ones experienced by many…
